Nissan showed off a fresh take on the urban vehicle with the Townpod concept in Paris. Part coupe, part commercial vehicle – according to a Nissan spokesperson we spoke to at the show – the Townpod concept features a clear product aesthetic and the inherent practicality of a van, without resorting to outright utilitarianism. A new frugal Honda Civic has been revealed – the Civic 1.6 -DETC - promising official economy of 78.5mpg. Costs from £19,400. Honda revealed the current Civic at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2011 offering an evolution in style but quite a jump in the way the Civic drives, even though it still offers Torsion Beam suspension at the back.

Peugeot has updated its Exalt concept car for the 2014 Paris motor show. Compared to the version that appeared at the Beijing motor show in April, the revised Peugeot Exalt features a new colour scheme, new materials – and an electric scooter in the boot. To recap, the Exalt is a large saloon that follows on from the Onyx concept of 2012.
